- 1/4 cup blueberries
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- juice and zest of 1 lemon
- sparkling water
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and lemon zest. Use your fingers to blend the zest into the sugar until no wet clumps remain.
- In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, add red grapes, blueberries, lemon juice, and the prepared lemon sugar. Cook for 15-20 minutes, occasionally mashing the fruit until it becomes a thick, wine-colored mash.
- Strain the mixture to remove solids and transfer the syrup to the refrigerator, letting it cool to room temperature.
- Once the syrup is chilled, pour 2-4 tablespoons into an ice-filled glass and top with sparkling water. Stir and enjoy!
