Description

Enjoy these Baked Beans With Bacon, featuring rich flavors and simple preparation. Perfect for a cozy dinner, this dish combines tender beans with crispy bacon and a hint of sweetness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 16 oz. cans pork-n-beans in tomato sauce
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 1/2 cup sweet onion, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons mustard

Instructions

  1. Fry the bacon in a skillet until it's crisp, then drain on paper towels, reserving the drippings.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  3. In a small pan, cook the chopped onion in about 2 tablespoons of the reserved bacon fat until it turns translucent.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the pork-n-beans, sautéed onions, and all remaining ingredients. If preferred, crumble some bacon into the mixture or reserve it for topping later.
  5. Transfer the bean mixture to an 11×7-inch baking dish and bake for 1 to 1.5 hours.
  6. Once done, remove from the oven, stir, and add reserved bacon slices on top if desired. Let it stand for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Feel free to adjust the sweetness by adding more or less brown sugar.
You can use any type of beans if pork-n-beans are not available.
For a smokier flavor, consider using smoked bacon.
