Description

Philly Cheesesteak Sliders are a delicious twist on the classic sandwich, combining juicy roast beef, melty provolone, and sautéed veggies all in a soft Hawaiian roll. Perfect for quick dinners or game day snacks, this dish packs irresistible flavor with simple preparation.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 hawaiian dinner rolls
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ½ vidalia onion , thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper , thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic , minced
  • 1 tablespoon dry onion soup mix , more to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon salt , more to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 12 slices deli-style roast beef , or 6 slices of thicker roast beef
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 4-6 tablespoons butter , melted
  • ½ tablespoon dijon mustard
  • ¼ teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2-1 teaspoon onion powder , or minced onions
  • 10 ounces beef consomme (one can)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and butter a 9×13" baking dish.
  2. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping them connected, and set aside the top section.
  3. In a skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter with 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and bell pepper, sautéing until softened (about 10 minutes).
  4. Mix in the minced garlic, onion soup mix, salt, and pepper; stir thoroughly. Add the roast beef, heating it through.
  5. Place the bottom half of the rolls in the baking dish, spoon the beef mixture on top, and layer with provolone cheese. Replace the top rolls.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together 4-6 tablespoons of melted butter, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and onion powder. Pour this over the rolls and allow it to soak in for about 10 minutes.
  7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 10-15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 2 minutes to brown the tops.
  8. Heat the beef consomme and serve alongside the sliders for dipping.

Notes

Feel free to adjust the seasoning according to your taste preferences.
You can use any type of cheese that melts well, like mozzarella or cheddar. If you want a spicier kick, consider adding jalapeños or hot peppers.
