Description

Enjoy the unique flavor of a pb&j whiskey sour. This cocktail combines sweet strawberries, creamy peanut butter, and a hint of rye whiskey for an irresistible treat. It’s an easy-to-make beverage, perfect for gatherings or a cozy night in.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup strawberries, chopped
  • 2 tbsp creamy peanut butter
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 2 tbsp crushed peanuts
  • 2 oz rye whiskey
  • 1/2 oz lemon juice


Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, mix sugar, strawberries, peanut butter, and 1 cup of water. Heat until simmering and cook for 10-15 minutes, occasionally mashing the berries, until syrup thickens.
  2. Strain the syrup to remove solids, pressing the berries to extract all the liquid. Store leftover syrup in the fridge for up to a week; shake before use if separation occurs.
  3. Brush honey around the rim of a coupe glass. Spread crushed peanuts on a plate and press the rim into the nuts to coat.
  4. In a shaker, combine rye whiskey, lemon juice, and 2 oz of the syrup. Add ice and shake until well chilled.
  5. Strain into the prepared coupe glass and garnish with a skewered strawberry. Sip and enjoy!

Notes

Adjust sweetness by varying the amount of syrup or honey.
For a stronger peanut flavor, increase peanut butter slightly.
This cocktail is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored for short periods in the fridge.
