Description
Enjoy the unique flavor of a pb&j whiskey sour. This cocktail combines sweet strawberries, creamy peanut butter, and a hint of rye whiskey for an irresistible treat. It’s an easy-to-make beverage, perfect for gatherings or a cozy night in.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup strawberries, chopped
- 2 tbsp creamy peanut butter
- 2 tsp honey
- 2 tbsp crushed peanuts
- 2 oz rye whiskey
- 1/2 oz lemon juice
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, mix sugar, strawberries, peanut butter, and 1 cup of water. Heat until simmering and cook for 10-15 minutes, occasionally mashing the berries, until syrup thickens.
- Strain the syrup to remove solids, pressing the berries to extract all the liquid. Store leftover syrup in the fridge for up to a week; shake before use if separation occurs.
- Brush honey around the rim of a coupe glass. Spread crushed peanuts on a plate and press the rim into the nuts to coat.
- In a shaker, combine rye whiskey, lemon juice, and 2 oz of the syrup. Add ice and shake until well chilled.
- Strain into the prepared coupe glass and garnish with a skewered strawberry. Sip and enjoy!
Notes
Adjust sweetness by varying the amount of syrup or honey.
For a stronger peanut flavor, increase peanut butter slightly.
This cocktail is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored for short periods in the fridge.
