Description

These easy homemade croutons are packed with flavor and can elevate any dish. Simple to make with just bread, olive oil, and seasonings, they add a delightful crunch to salads and soups.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups bread (cut into ¾-inch cubes)
  • ⅓ cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon each of salt and black pepper (or more to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375℉ and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle the italian seasoning, dried parsley, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then toss to ensure all pieces are coated evenly.
  3. Spread the seasoned bread cubes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, stirring halfway through, until they are golden brown. Once done, remove them from the oven and let them cool in the pan for 10 minutes.

Notes

You can use any type of bread you have on hand for varying flavors.
Adjust the seasonings according to your preference—feel free to add more for extra flavor.
Store leftover croutons in an airtight container to keep them crisp.
