Ingredients

  • ¼ cup agave or honey
  • 2 oz. simple syrup
  • 4 oz. blood orange juice, ~4-6 medium blood oranges
  • 4 oz. high-quality tequila
  • 2 oz. lime juice, ~6-8 medium limes
  • 1-2 cups ice, + more for serving


Instructions

  1. Prepare the simple syrup by boiling water with agave or honey in a small pot until dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool.
  2. Fill a cocktail shaker with 1 to 2 cups of ice, then add blood orange juice, lime juice, tequila, and simple syrup. Adjust sweetness with more simple syrup if desired.
  3. Shake well to mix all ingredients together.
  4. Pour over ice and garnish with fresh blood orange slices and a salted rim.
