Description

These Bison Burgers are packed with mouthwatering flavor and are easy to prepare. With juicy bison, creamy brie, and crispy bacon, they are ideal for a quick and satisfying dinner that everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds ground bison or beef
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup avocado oil mayo
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoons dijon mustard
  • 1/8 teaspoon sea salt
  • 8-10 slices cooked bacon
  • 1 large yellow onion
  • 8 ounces brie cheese
  • 6 buns

Instructions

  1. Preheat your BBQ grill to high heat or prepare your smoker as necessary.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the ground bison with Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon sea salt, and black pepper. Mix gently and form into six patties, each about 5.5 ounces.
  3. Prepare the aioli by mixing its ingredients in a small bowl. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
  4. If bacon needs cooking, do it now. Slice the onion into 1/4-inch rings and sauté in the bacon drippings or your preferred oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned and soft, approximately 10 minutes. Adjust heat if necessary to prevent burning.
  5. Slice the brie cheese into 1/2-inch thick planks.
  6. Place the burger patties on the grill and cook for about 7-8 minutes on each side, until they reach an internal temperature of 150-160F.
  7. Top each patty with brie cheese and move to indirect heat to allow the cheese to melt. Be careful not to leave them for too long to prevent excessive melting.
  8. Assemble the burgers by spreading aioli on both sides of the buns, adding the burger patty, grilled onions, and slices of bacon.

Notes

Feel free to customize the toppings with your favorite ingredients.
For a smokier flavor, consider using a pellet grill.
Ensure the internal temperature of the bison reaches at least 150F for safety.
