Ingredients

- 8-10 brats or sweet italian sausage
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 large onion sliced
- 18 ounces beer i prefer light domestic beer
- 3 cloves garlic chopped
- 8-10 buns
Instructions
- Preheat your grill and prepare an aluminum grilling pan.
- In the grilling pan, combine the sliced onion, chopped garlic, and butter, cutting the butter into small pieces to distribute over the other ingredients.
- Place the brats directly on the grill over medium heat and cook for 10-15 minutes.
- After 5 minutes of grilling the brats, set the aluminum grilling pan on the grill to cook until the onions become translucent.
- Once the brats are almost cooked, pour beer into the grilling pan and nestle the brats into the liquid. Cover the pan and reduce the heat to a simmer.
- Let the brats simmer for at least 15 minutes, allowing them to soak up the flavors. They can remain on longer for extra flavor absorption.
- Remove the brats from the pan, serve in buns, and enjoy.
Notes
Feel free to use your favorite type of beer for cooking.
The longer the brats simmer in the beer, the more flavorful they will be.
Served with mustard and sauerkraut, these brats make a great meal.
